We can help you claim compensation for your injuries by offering a 100% Compensation - No Win No Fee service, meaning that you receive 100% of your compensation and pay absolutely nothing to claim.

It is important that all employees have effective health and safety training. According to the Health and Safety Executive, 200 people are killed each year in accidents at work and over one million are injured. Over two million employees suffer illnesses which are caused or are made worse by their work.

"The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires you to provide whatever information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of your employees."

Types of training

  • Induction training
  • Safety procedures and rules
  • Use of protective equipment - boots, hats, and other clothing
  • Manual handling - way to lift heavy or awkward weights
  • Use of ladders safely
  • Operation of machinery
  • Additional training - specific areas (disposal of chemicals, forklift truck etc)

Military training

Most injuries that occur within the Ministry of Defence happen in training and can also be avoidable. MoD employees are regularly exposed to very dangerous environments and situations but they impose strict safety guidelines and training.

Situations causing injuries

  • Explosive training
  • Parachute jumping
  • Playing sports
  • Driving heavy goods vehicles
  • Using faulty guns/combat equipment
  • Exposure to dangerous chemicals
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - depression, panic attacks, nightmares or flashbacks and severe feelings of survivor’s guilt

MoD employee's that are injured in action or training can claim whilst they are still employed. If they are injured in actual combat it is less likely that they would be eligible to make a claim as the injury is likely to have been inflicted by the enemy force. Injury claims against the military or Ministry of Defence can be complex but don't hesitate to contact us.

Case Study

"A West Sussex factory worker has been awarded £30,000 accident compensation after sustaining serious injuries in an accident involving a cleaning machine. The Polish employee - who was not normally employed as a cleaner - was asked to leave her regular duties to help out. She was given only brief instructions on how to clean the machine, with which she was unfamiliar. She lost one of her fingers when her hand was drawn into the machine."

Case Study

"A machinist who injured her shoulder lifting heavy boxes has been awarded £1,700 in damages. The woman received her payment via an out-of-court settlement after her employers accepted she had not received adequate training in the workplace prior to the accident in 2006."
